My apologies for being away…yet again.  However, life does happen.  Have relished having day job work to do again…and being gainfully employed..woot.  However, that has diminished my allotted time for keyboard activity.  But, alas, I have a goal to finish this one novel before the fall of February, and so I shall.  At the very least I will have draft zero accomplished by the 28th day for the second month. 

Things accomplished in fiction…besides feeling guilty about not writing, and feeling even worse when I see other writers word counts…nada.

Things accomplished in real life…new day job, supporting my wife while she had four teeth pulled..ouch, adjusting to the new schedules of the fam…trust me..thats a lot.

New posts to come..hopefully I won’t be on radio silence for much longer.

Yes.  Yes.  Yes.  It’s that time again.  The little children are returning to their respective desks and cubbyholes tomorrow morn.  Vacation for them is now officially over, it is once again a school night.  Although, I shall miss their constant bickering, and arguing, and the fights, and the spills warm smiles, and adoring words of encouragement.  My daughter says the most truthful things ,and though they are meant to be supportive, they are hard to hear.   Ah, well the innocence of being a child knows no better.  But, since my minions will be hard at work tomorrow at their school, I must be hard at work as well.  I have done the math, and the result is not to my liking.  I will need to hit 1358 words per day, for the next 60 days (yes SIXTY) in order to finish DRC within my allotted time limit.  This is just draft Zero mind you.  So, in order for me to slice and dice that number down, I need to pound out closer to 2500 wpd.  *wipes sweat from brow line*.

The good news…today I managed to write a whole 495 words.  Yeah, I know, sad isn’t it.  Tomorrow more words shall be forced to populate the white city of paper.

On a different note, this will be the first time I will be posting my blog on my personal facebook account.  So, if you happen to read this and are one of my “limited” friends please drop me a comment.  I would love to hear what you think of my rantings thus far. 

The night is quickly settling upon me, and I must enjoy some read time before lights out.  So I bid ye..later dude.

Just a quick recap of today.

Things accomplished in fiction:

1506 words written in DRC…nice addition to the word total
New idea for an UF book has been outlined
Contests have been researched…no, I haven’t chosen one yet, but I’m still looking.

Things accomplished in real life:

Prepped and made White chicken chili…waiting patiently for the fam to return to begin devouring process
Walked dog two miles..or, perhaps he walked me..not sure.
Finished up kids laundry, and will have finished mine by the end of the day.
Still have to run an errand for the wife, but thats about it.

So goes the cliche.  However, this year should prove to be different.  I have all ready quit the smoking, and my formerly nicotine stained fingers will be pounding out the words over the next full 12 months.  I am going to be quite determined to get at least one book published represented this year.  And, in order to accomplish said task, I must write and write and then when I am finally tired of it, I need to write some more. 

During all this word creation I will be exercising.  I need to drop at least 75 pounds by years end, or by the first time I have to get a professional photo taken for a book cover.  So, there will be that going on on a daily or at least semi-daily basis.  This year, preferably in the next few months I need to have some major dental work done.  I have put it off last year simply because I hate the dentist.  But, the longer I wait the more work I am going to need.  By the end of 2010 I should be completely unrecognizable from my current state.  Which to say is a great thing, as my current state is sad to say the least.  But, I digress.

I plan to finish DRC draft zero by the end of February, although the end of January would be preferred.  My other untitled Fantasy is in the works and draft negative one is about a quarter of the way finished.  I call it negative one because its going to need a major overhaul when thats done.  But for now, its still in progress. 

That’s gonna be a wrap for me tonight, its almost 1 AM here in Hotlanta, and I am beat. 

Happy NEW YEAR to all, and happy new decade as well.  And, for your information, it is pronounced twenty ten.
